As vehemently (and often snottily) as they protest their sincerity, I still have to wonder whether most atheists truly believe their atheism. I know one, big Hitchens and Dawkins fan, who was telling me the other day, with great passion, how disappointed he was in certain life choices his son made. The committed atheist, who is elderly, said he would roll in his grave if his child kept acting like this after his death. I was like, er, about that…
Anyway, it’s so clear to us that if there is no God, nothing matters. Yet so many atheists act as if things still matter. I don’t get it…
Yes, but then I the trying to say one thing and live another can get tiring in the end. Even Hitchens towards the end became far more open to talking about faith.
Brilliant, thank you!
