The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist

In the last 20 years, atheism rose to incredible heights—and then plummeted like a concrete hippo. What happened? Why are some of the terrible arguments of the 'New Atheism' still refusing to die? And what's with the surprising rebirth of belief in God that seems to have broken out all across the West?

With his trademark combination of wit and wisdom, Andy Bannister has entirely updated and expanded his classic book. With new content, new resources, and a new study guide, it's a laugh out loud whilst thinking deeply roller coaster ride of a book.

"A delight to read!"
~ Glen Scrivener

"Wisdom, grace and plenty of humour!"
~ Justin Brierley

"presents complex ideas in an engaging and accessible way!"
~ Kristi Mair

About Me

I am an author, speaker and broadcaster. I am also the Director of the Solas Centre for Public Christianity and also Adjunct Research Fellow at the Arthur Jeffery Centre for the Study of Islam at Melbourne School of Theology.

I am the author of An Oral-Formulaic Study of the Qur’an (a groundbreaking and innovative study that reveals many of the ways the Qur’an was first composed) and Heroes: Five Lessons From Whose Lives We Can Learn, an exciting and fast-moving look at the lives of five incredible giants of the Christian faith. My last book, The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist (or: The Dreadful Consequences of Really Bad Arguments), is a fun, highly-accessible engagement with some of the arguments heard from popular atheists such as Richard Dawkins or Ricky Gervais. I also co-wrote and presented the TV documentary, Burning Questions.

I regularly speak to audiences of all faiths and none in universities, churches, business forums and other settings across the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA and further afield.
